New Moon in Aries, Astrological New Year Arrives

The new moon arrives on March 21 at 0 degrees in Aries shortly after the Spring Equinox. Happy astrological new year! Pluto (the planet that symbolizes rebirth), who will enter Aquarius shortly after, will sextile this new moon. Pluto's dark side is touching the sun where it exalts—as follows, determination and strong will, reinventing and empowering ourselves. It seems like we finally know what to do next, even though we do not see what is yet to come.

Full Moon in Virgo, Saturn Enters Pisces

The intention to connect to a higher power is very Piscean. Still, it is only possible with consistency, devotion, purification, and the practice of checking in with our minds. These are the talents of Pisces's opposite sign, Virgo. Virgo is the essence of spirituality. Virgo is the antidote to Pisces's most immense shadow: escapism. Virgo takes us back to where Pisces took us away from, but as better versions of ourselves. Mercury's feminine side, Virgo, trains our minds with care and routines to improve our dharma.

Full Moon in Leo

Leo is the fourth archetype in the zodiac journey, coming after Aries (birth), Taurus (getting to know the senses and the body), Gemini (developing curiosity and intellect), and Cancer (recognizing the existence of emotions and learning how to regulate them).

Being followed by Cancer, when we think about the Leo archetype, we cannot separate it from emotions. Leo rules the heart and is ruled by the Sun. Leo gives us life and the ability to love: ourselves and the outer world.

New Moon in Aquarius

The first new moon of the new year is here, arriving today, at 3.52 PM EST, at 1 degree of Aquarius. The moon is trine Mars, which had just taken a step away from its retrograde, allowing us to take action for a fresh start.

One archetype associated with Aquarius is Prometheus, the supreme trickster and a god of fire. Prometheus's intellectual side was emphasized by the apparent meaning of his name, Forethinker. He had tricked Zeus, and stole fire from him to gift it to Earth, knowing how much humans needed fire for food and warmth. As the price of fire and as punishment for humankind, Zeus had him nailed to a mountain in the Caucasus and sent an eagle to eat his immortal liver, which constantly replenished itself.

As much as humanism, rebellion, communal values, and groups of people within the same ideology (11th house), Aquarius also rules eccentricity, doing the undone, and being what others are not quite ready to witness, allowing to be as authentic as possible. Undressing norms, traditions, and normality.

It is hard not to call Aquarius paradoxical as it rules communities but also individuality.

In my eyes, the Aquarian archetype is a teen with a band shirt on— at the beginning of individualism, trying to unwind as a new person. Family, roots, and whatever they have been before their teen years don't matter much anymore: finding a "like-minded" friend group is significant. Remember how vulnerable it was?

With this full moon, which is sextile with sweet Jupiter, we know where we want to move forward more clearly and are able to expand our ideas. Still, Aquarius's paradox encourages you to break out of the mold, do it differently, try something fresh, and be uncommon: that’s the only way to build a tribe of your own.

from the heart to the wound,

Ipek, Ouroboros Community

Scorpio, Halloween, and Transformation

There is something about autumn that makes you want to understand. As leaves separate from the secure and rooted trees, I think about everything I once said that I would never do. Life has a very humorous way of thinning down the molded beliefs that we have for ourselves. So do we. Transformation is a part of life, but we need to see what is under the carpet to transform.
