Astrology found me in 2018 when I was a senior in college. I was reading one book that changed my perspective on inner work then: Carl Jung's "Memories, Dreams, and Reflections. The book that turned into my bedside book, along with "Women Who Run with the Wolves." The words archetype, shadow, feminine, and masculine have already been in my mind. I was practicing yoga philosophy, thinking about the "truth." Just like a Sagittarius, my birth chart said. Suddenly, I came to a realization that astrology might have completed everything I was looking for. I started taking astrology classes from a few astrologers back home in Turkey. After moving to New York City, I got my Applied Archetypal Astrology Certification from the Pacifica Graduate Institute. This time, I got to study this ancient wisdom from the best astrologers alive, like Steven Forrest and Laurence Hillman.
I describe astrology as "the language of energy." This description reminds me of one thing my college Spanish language teacher told the class. "I am teaching you culture because I would not want y'all to speak this language and have nothing to say in it." I incorporate mythology, Jungian psychology, taoist tales, and more in my readings. I teach clients how to say the right things with their birth charts.
When I am not writing about and consulting about astrology, I am studying for my master's in Psychology and teaching English & Turkish to adults.
I have seven planets in the sign Sagittarius. I am a lifelong student. (and sometimes a teacher.)
You can join me in my Birth Chart Reading Practicum events in Brooklyn, Psychology of the Zodiac workshops, or book your one-on-one reading.
