Full Moon in Virgo, Saturn Enters Pisces

Being spiritual on a meditation cushion at a yoga retreat is easy. What about when you return to the city and somebody steps on your toe on the train?

The intention to connect to a higher power is very Piscean. Still, it is only possible with consistency, devotion, purification, and the practice of checking in with our minds. These are the talents of Pisces's opposite sign, Virgo. Virgo is the essence of spirituality. Virgo is the antidote to Pisces's most immense shadow: escapism. Virgo takes us back to where Pisces took us away from, but as better versions of ourselves. Mercury's feminine side, Virgo, trains our minds with care and routines to improve our dharma.

Virgo full moon reaches peak illumination at 7:42 AM ET on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. This full moon makes me think of three themes: purification, completion, and the emergence of new routes.

The full moon occurs as Saturn, the slowest moving personal planet, enters Pisces after its three years stay in Aquarius. My mentor, evolutionary astrologer Steven Forrest defines Saturn as "the planet that gives us the ability to do what we don't feel like doing." Saturn is integrity, self-discipline, and maturity. Saturn is not bad; Saturn is tough. Saturn in Pisces will suggest a disciplined inwardness, like making a mystical and/or artistic promise to yourself, which may mean sitting in meditation every 6 AM or finding ways of art's role in your daily life rather than only creating it. Saturn in Pisces is significantly similar to my point of view on the Virgo/Pisces axis, and I find it valuable that it is being introduced with this full moon.

As she is harmoniously aspected by Uranus, the full moon introduces us to new paths we haven't considered before. We are perhaps asked to embrace these new paths with awkwardness and let them peculiarly arrive. Maybe you have a slightly unconventional idea about new ways of making money, maybe you want to study an extraordinary subject, or maybe you want to try an untraditional investment model.

Whatever you acquire from Uranus's lightning strikes, Virgo wants you to devote yourself to it daily, and remember, dharma is washing the dishes and taking out the trash, not so much a yoga retreat in Bali.
