SOLAR ECLIPSE IN ARIES APRIL 20, 2023

A chart is a living myth, a story of where we have been and where we are going.

Aries, ruled by Mars, is a new cycle starter—a maker of a story embarking on a new phase or period in life. Aries is the first "no." of our lives, the first request for more experiences: Aries is birth.

According to evolutionary astrology, the moon's nodes are one of the most important points in the chart, emerging even more during eclipse seasons. They ironically go back to the previous signs when they change signs, reminding us of the belief systems and behaviors we should leave *behind* and the skills we should balance them with.

For the last 1,5 years, they have taught us about the balance between Taurus / Scorpio axis.

Whenever the Scorpio in all of us wanted to dig deeper, the Taurus said, "Be simple."
Whenever the Scorpio in all of us wanted to burn, turn into ashes, and be reborn, the Taurus said, "Slow down."
Whenever the Scorpio in all of us desired crises to feel alive, the Taurus said, "Reality is in your senses."

To relate to this even better, you can find the Scorpio and Taurus houses in your birth chart and reflect on how you pulled towards your Taurus house a little more.

(As I feel called to use the Placidus house system, I do not assume each house and sign own equal slices of the birth chart. Some houses may skip or duplicate signs; that's why I often avoid writing rising-sign-based horoscopes. Ask me if you don’t know how to spot the Taurus & Scorpio axis in your chart.)

Our Taurus & Scorpio story is not over yet. We will have another eclipse on May 5 in Scorpio and October 28 in Taurus, but soon we will slowly close this chapter and look to learn more about the Aries / Libra archetypes in us.

This eclipse begins the journey of choosing what makes us, us.

This eclipse begins the journey of paying attention to what took us away whenever we wanted to say "NO." from saying it.

This eclipse begins the journey of trusting ourselves and decisions which are not overly influenced by external validation of approval. (shadow, Libra)

This eclipse begins the journey of expressing our needs and boundaries assertively and advocating for ourselves while respecting the rights and opinions of others.

This eclipse begins the journey of taking action to achieve goals without needing external motivation.

The New Moon solar eclipse is square by Pluto, symbolized by the legendary Phoenix, creating friction, obstacles, and conflicts in your Aquarius house. Take time to reflect on integrating these conflicts. Be open to unexpected shifts or new opportunities that may arise during this time. Embrace the energy of change and trust in the process of transformation.

Observe your Aries. Study its story. Perhaps personify it. What does it want? What cycle will it start?
