Eclipse Portal II: Second Part of October 2023

In times like this, I often question doing astrology in the way I do — to reflect the collective energies and archetypal forces that influence our lives to better understand ourselves and our inner worlds.
What about the outer world?
Today, I’ve felt completely hopeless about the world we live in. Heartbroken and powerless. With a sense of guilt that often creeps in when I see pain around me that is not mine.
But I am trying to remind myself that doing inner work is one of the most valuable things we can do to benefit the collective. As well as standing up for justice, talking about it, and refusing to turn a blind eye to the cruelty and lack of justice.
What is happening outside is also happening inside, says astrology — and even when we can’t change outside, we can make the inside a place to find comfort. So, I will do what I believe feeds my soul best and briefly discuss the upcoming energies.
We’ve just had a new moon solar eclipse in Libra (harmony, justice, partnerships, negotiation) tensely aspected by Pluto (power, intimacy, taboos, death, and the underground). Things this eclipse has brought, inner and outer, will continue to affect us for the next six months. The sun and the south node are moving away from each other. We are asked to “release” patterns, partnerships, and the way we “attach” to things that no longer resonate with our needs, uncovering “hidden” information from our inner selves, assumably about our relationships, which Pluto’s influence often brings to the surface.
Mercury Cazimi will indicate the need for harmonious communication and balanced decision-making on October 21. Even though it is usually a favorable time for discussions, negotiations, and making important decisions fairly and justly, Pluto’s exact square is creating conflicts or difficulties in how we process information or deal with power struggles. It seems like a day of intense conversations or the need to confront hidden or deep-seated issues.
Mercury will move into Scorpio on October 23 and quickly conjunct Mars, giving us a detective-like mind but also a fighter instinct. Addressing topics that require in-depth research and analytical processes, including astrology, will be satisfying. But it’s important to be mindful of what we say, as the increased energy could potentially result in conflicts or confrontations, especially on the eclipse day.
On October 28, we welcome the last eclipse in the Taurus/Scorpio axis until 2030. Libra Eclipse was about relationships and boundaries. Taurus is about security and stability. This is a closure of the last 1.5-year cycle. Have you spent the money you did not want to spend? How much did you take care of your body? How safe do you feel in it? Remember, when the world gets too overwhelming, our bodies are the place to find comfort and safety. (I will talk more about the eclipse next week.)
