New Moon in Virgo (09/14/2023 at 9.39 PM)

The sun and the moon's monthly conversation on the same topic is here. Happy new moon!

The full moons are about integrating the duality; the new moons are about agreeing and intending a new perspective.

Before every new moon, the moon slowly gets closer to the sun, where he (the sun) has already been and "experienced."

The moon brings out the "feeling" part of the "experience."

But also, right after the new moon, the moon passes the sun, the "feeling" part goes ahead of "experiencing," our intuition peaks.

When I first started learning about the basics of astrology, associating the modalities (cardinal, fixed, mutable) of archetypes with the elements made perfect sense except one:

Mutable earth.

How can the earth be mutable?

For the longest time, I did not understand Virgo.

Virgo season arrives right before fall, the busiest time for farmers with lots of work and long days in the fields. Farms hire extra workers to ensure everything is harvested before the snow falls, bringing their adaptability to planning and organizing.

How rough is the winter going to be? Who knows. How can we ensure that the crops turn out well? - by doing our best.

Mercury, the ruler of Virgo, stations direct right after the new moon. Even though the sun is already at 21 degrees, Virgo season seems to start just now. There is a "great trine" in the sky: Pluto, Uranus, the Sun & moon make aspects to each other in the earth signs. Whatever we intend seems to promise long-term commitments and sturdier results.

Neptune, though, opposes the new moon with a touch of the unknown.

In this full moon, find a high standard for yourselves. Cultivate it. Let Neptune confuse you a little, but do not get disappointed. We never know how tough the winter would be. Maybe this time, the seeds will come from somewhere unexpected. (Uranus)
